I’m very excited for today’s guest post. If you haven’t met Layne from MoveYourAcetone yet, I advise you to run, skip, jump or fly to her blog and become a follower NOW! She may call herself new-to the scene of blogging (her blog is only four months old) but don’t let that fool you. Her creativity and execution are both incredible! I have a huge nail crush on her AND she is such a fun and kind spirit. She is the lovely lady behind one of the sweetest nail mails (packed full with items from my own Wish List!!!) that I received.
The other reason I’m totally excited for today’s post is because there is some Matte action in it
… and you all know how I feel about “matte” topcoats

Hello ChitChatNails followers, I’m very excited to share some nail art with you today, especially on Marta’s blog! I’m semi-new to the blogging world and she has been so sweet and welcoming to me along the way. I was honored and surprised when she asked me to do a guest post. And just so you have a little info on me: My name is Layne, I’m 21 years old from Wichita, Kansas.. I started my blog, MoveYourAcetone, in October and have had such a great time chatting with so many of you amazing nail bloggers and fans, and can’t wait to see what is in store for the future!
These are the nails I have for you today:

I used 1 coat of OPI-Nail Envy and 2 coats of CND-Blackjack as my base. Then I applied 2 coats of Essie-Matte About You and allowed my nails to dry for 5-6 minutes. I went back and added leopard print over the matte with a dotting tool and more CND-Blackjack. I loved the result and have been experimenting with matte/shine contrast alot lately.

Thank you again to Marta for having me here for a guest post, and head over to my blog at MoveYourAcetone if you’d like to check out some of my other manis!
xoxo
Layne

Black, matte AND animal print OH MY!!! I admire you, Layne, for being able to pull off such a great freehand look! I think this is both classy and spunky and I am thankful you chose this look as a guest post! You truly are quite talented. I should insert a disclaimer that this post and photos were sent to me just over a month ago, and since then I have seen a similar look surface on other blogs… Either way, I don’t think I will ever tire of Animal print… EVER
What do you think? Do you like this look? Are you a fan of the glossy/mat combo? Have you tried to play with the matte topcoat and come up with any combinations that really worked?
THANK YOU FOR READING!
