Nail Polish Canada review

Author: marta  //  Category: Konad, Sally Hansen, Uncategorized, Zoya

I was recently contacted by Nail Polish Canada who offered to send me one of the newest KONAD stamping plates to review: Konad plate m84!

(the note that came with the plate was SO cute; it read “I hope you really, really… enjoy the plate”) :D

NailPolishCanada carries a lot of awesome nail polish brands such as Zoya, Essie, Butter London, Deborah Lippman, OPI, ChinaGlaze, etc.  Recently, however, they started to carrying authentic Konad products as well!!!  What I like the most is that they ship Konad plates for FREE!!! (check out the Konad selection HERE)

I LOVE stamping, and have had the privilege of playing with a number of stamping plate brands.  I will say though, that Konad will always hold a special place in my heart.  I don’t often indulge in a splurge, but when it comes to Konad plates I think it is worth to pay the extra few dollars for the quality.

Some of the things I love about Konad plates:

* The images are ALWAYS crisp and very detailed

* The smooth protective plate backing (protects not only the plate but your fingers ;) )

* The large variety of small images and full nail images ;)

(take a look at the incredible detailing in the images! )

Stamped with Sally Hansen Whirlwind White

NailPolishCanada is also the mastermind behind Adopt-A-Polish which is where I was lucky enough to adopt this lovely chocolate brown Zoya Angelina!!! I thought it was quite fitting to showcase this colour here and to spread the word about this super unique idea!!! Way to go NailPolishCanada!

I really enjoy this particular plate because it has a nice assortment of images:

* individual floral images

* full nail star image

* the very feminine bow image (who doesn’t love bows?!) ;)

* and those super super cute little lips

    I love this look. I definitely like konad plates best but today I just received my first Cheeky XL plate and I gotta say I am loving both the designs and the size of the designs! Stamps well too :)

    • marta

      @Aisha M. I’m glad you like this simple but lady-like look :D
      I have yet to try Cheeky XL plates but I sure have heard a lot about their lovely LARGE full nail images… maybe sometime soon ;) Thank you for your comment

      @Carol Thank you! I’m glad you agree with me… there really is something for everyone on this plate right?! Bows, stars, flowers, lips… for large and small nails alike

    Wow! The flowers are SO detailed… ♥ this plate! Very cute manicure!

    • marta

      @KimsKie’s Nails Glad you like this look! I should also point out that I didn’t use a KONAD stamping polish but a normal white department store brand and the design still turned out so detailed :D I was quite impressed :D

    Wow this one looks really nice! I also like the bundlemonster imageplates.

    • marta

      @Nailart-addict I’m glad you like this look. I also have both sets of BM plates; I enjoy the new ones better because the image sizes are bigger (I have quite wide nails so it helps to have larger images for full nail stamping).

    I LOVE this mani! The plate looks awesome. Stars, Flowers, Bows oh my! I’ve had one sad attempt at stamping. This is beautiful! :)

    • marta

      @SillyCR I’m so glad you like this look. Stamping is something that takes time, patience and practice. It also helps a lot to have a good stamping plate, a good stamper and most importantly a highly pigmented stamping polish… all these things will eventually = success.
      Keep your head up, and keep trying (I have heard a lot of beginning stampers practice on an “OLD” manicure (right before taking it off)… that way you get used to the stamping technique and then can remove the practice runs with your old manicure).

      This image plate sure has something for everyone though right!? :D

    This stamp is insanely precise indeed! No need to explain anymore probably, I love this mani!

    • marta

      @Nusa :D I am not always in the mood for ‘floral’ designs but the intricacy of this stamp made me really enjoy this look too :D
      Glad you like

    Love how you placed the roses close to the cuticle. And wow, how amazingly crisp is that stamping? <3 This brown makes me want to bust out the Colour Alike polish you gave me (thanks again!). :D Amazing mani, as always, Marta!

    • marta

      @Carmela :D I’m glad you like this chocolaty look :D I have to say that you are right… this Zoya is quite similar to the Colour Alike (I have both) ;) and will savor both of them equally :D

    Hey Marta!

    Hehe, it was really nice of them to send you that plate, but also the cute note, too! :D

    Your manicure is really cute, and I’m looking forward to seeing how you’ll use the star design in an upcoming manicure.

    • marta

      @Swatch And Learn This plate was on my wishlist so I definitely appreciated the chance to review it :D
      I remember your pink and black combo with the stars… I really liked that. I will try to play with it soon ;)

    This is lovely! When you stamp the bouquet do you stamp up and down or side to side. I have a bit of trouble with positioning of images like that, and your positioning is perfect.

    • marta

      @aimee I’m so glad you like this look.
      When I work with ANY plate I press the stamper firmly DOWN onto the plate. When it comes to transferring the image from the stamper onto my nail, I always peek under the stamper just before placing it down on my nail and I ROLL the stamper from one side of my nail to the other in a firm but solid motion.
      What has also helped me (if I may share), is when I first place the stamper onto the plate I make sure that the stamp is close to the edge of the stamper (not dead center). This helps me further in guiding the image onto the nail because I know the image is right at the edge of the stamp. I hope this helps a little.
