Striping Tape Round 2

Author: marta  //  Category: BornPretty Store, China Glaze, Hot Ticket

Yesterday I reviewed a set of twelve Nail-art Striping Tapes from the BornPretty Store.

Today I would like to show you another way, maybe even a simpler way, to use the Nail-art Striping Tape.

All you need for this look are two shades of polish and a complimentary shade of Striping Tape.

For this look I used two coats of Hot Ticket Coral Reef-ined.  This is the first time I tried a Hot Ticket polish.  I love the color a LOT: a nearly-neon creamy salmon shade… yum!!!  The formula was another thing; my painting frustrations behind me now, I will only say that the formula was very thick, and did NOT want to level out… quite a stubborn little number.

The accent nail is two coats of China Glaze Recycle.  I waited for the polish to dry before attaching two bronzed chrome strips of Striping Tape.  For tips on how to use the Striping Tapes check out yesterday’s How-To Tutorial.

I sometimes like a simple look and this one kept me happy for the few days that I wore it :D

If you would like to purchase your set of striping tapes you can do so HERE.  Twelve rolls retail for $8.99 (with FREE international shipping).  Also, remember that coupon code MARTAK31 gets you an additional 10% off of your entire purchase.

I would also like to remind you that there is still time to vote in the Bundle Monster contest on Facebook.  Check out all of the entries… and if you would like to support my manicure click HERE to vote :D Thank you!

Have you tried Nail-Art Striping Tape?  Did you like how they look in a manicure?

Any tips/tricks that worked for you?

Have you tried the Hot Ticket nail polish brand? Thoughts?!

Pretty! Many times simple is the best thing around.

    • Marta

      Hi Nailart-Addict:
Though I do like to stamp a LOT, it is often when I return to the simple manicures that I am happiest :D I’m glad you like this simple look :D xxx

  • Andrea Manases

This looks amazing, it is simple, but the stripes gives this mani an elegant touch.

    • Marta

      Hi Andrea Manases:
Thank you! I am glad you like this look and it was quite easy to do (much easier than drawing the stripes… I am not that good at freehand lines).

  • Fingers

Oh Marta-i am so in awe of you and your nails!  This is so pretty!

    • Marta

      Hi Fingers,
      Thank you! :D

  • PassionForPolish

I love this! Very classy :)

    • Marta

      Hi PassionForPolish:
Thank you! :D The chrome finish on this manicure was actually really pretty to look at :D

  • MariJo Nails

I love this color combo!!  Recycle is one of my favorite grays.  Thanks for sharing another tip.  I can’t wait to try this out.

    • Marta

      Hi MariJo Nails,
Recycle and I have a strange relationship. I bought it eons ago (at the beginning of my blogging) because I didn’t own a single grey. When I got it I was uninspired to use/try it… until recently :D
I hope you do give this a whirl… I look forward to seeing your interpretation of this :D

  • Joanne Proctor

Stunning, Sorry been awol for a few days but so glad I have your posts to catch up on :D
This really is stunning and simple at the same time great job , I love the pink polish too

    • Marta

      Hi Jo,
Thank you for revisiting the older posts… that means a lot! I know that we are always busy with stuff so don’t ever worry… I won’t take your ‘absence’ the wrong way ;)
This is the first time I tried this brand… the shade was nice, the formula a little crummy

  • Deborah

    Very cute ♥.

    • Marta

      Hi Deborah,
      Thanks :D
Sometimes simple is quite pretty, right!?

  • Esther (Fab Fingertips)

Love this, the 2 stripes remind me of the old Revlon nail bottles you used to get with the 2 gold bands round them!

    • Marta

      Hi Esther,
You know, when the manicure was all done I looked at my nail and thought “nail, you remind me of something” but I couldn’t put my finger on it!… I think you nailed it with the Revlon bottle thing! ;)

  • Klenz85

Such a class look. It kind of reminds me of old time Hawaii… like something the ladies in the old style Elvis movies would wear. It might be because of the picture on the bottle, but I thing the colours have that soft faded look. Either way its look very cute.

    • Marta

      Hi Klenz85:
The salmon shade did have that weird retro feel to it… depite the fact that it was fairly bright… especially when paired with the grey.
      Glad you like :D

  • GosiaB

you know, it somehow reminds of wedding rings!!  especially since it’s on the ring finger.  I love it!!!!

    • Marta

      Hi GosiaB,
Yes, the two stripes do resemble rings… I almost went for a third but instantly thought of “Adidas” and refrained…

  • Marta

    Hi Ashley,
I’m glad you like this simple look… sometimes simple is better ;)

  • Nuša

This mani is MADE to be worn on an engagement party. It’s classy and sophisticated with a fun twist, plus the two golden stripes remind me of a ring. It might be too playful for an actual wedding, but for a glamorous engagement party with cocktail dresses and champagne – it’s perfect! I absolutely love the color combo! <3

    • Marta

      Hi Nusa,
You are the second person that mentioned the stripes look like rings ;) I agree with you :D I thought of adding a third but then Adidas came to mind and I opted out ;)
You always have such kind things to say to me… I want to bottle your words up and take them out whenever I feel a bit down ;) Thank you sooo much for that!

  • Carmela

This one here is right up my alley! Love the color combo and the accent nail is understated yet classy. I don’t even know why I’m putting off getting these striping tapes!

I’ve never tried Hot Ticket before but after reading about how it’s a thick, goopy mess that refuses to level out…I don’t think I’ll be picking one up soon!

    • Marta

      Hi Carmela,
There are sooo many ways to use this tape… honestly, what a neat little tool :D
Yeah, the Hot Ticket shade is pretty… formula not so much (and I don’t say that often).
