Today is not only Wednesday (and on Wednesdays we wear PINK) but it is Part Two of the Twin Post series with Carmela from Polished Indulgence revolving around this Color Club set:
Today we will be showing you the light pink, called Pardon My French. Take a look at what I’ve come up with, and then head on over to Carmela’s blog! (two ideas in one day! ).
(this is two coats in the swatches)
Color Club’s Pardon my French is a sheer, milky, bubblegum-ish pink. A few years back, I used to be drawn to shades like this and now I don’t pay them much attention. My favourite sheer pink now is Cult Nails Enticing… this polish has to stand in the shadow of the almighty Enticing
While Enticing is a lovely and sophisticated jelly which leaves your nails with a healthy glow that never turns too pink, Pardon my French is milkier, streakier and brighter.
You knew I’d add a glitter tips right!?
How could I not?!?!?
This glitter-tip manicure was done without a sponge. I applied (with the nail polish brush) one thin coat of Color Club Candy Cane, followed by one coat (again, with the polish brush) of Essie A Cut Above. One coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast sealed the deal.
I wore this look for quite a few days last week. I find that glitter-tip manicures tend to last longer because the tips are made stronger by the larger glitters… that may just be my imagination, but that is what I tell myself. Adding glitter to your tips could also help disguise tip-wear on an older manicure… so really, this technique is a nifty one (yes, I did just say “nifty” ).
If I may digress from the Color Club shade and briefly mention Essie’s A Cut Above. What a glitter packed polish!!!! This bottle holds larger and smaller glitters, but one stroke of the brush leaves behind a perfect trail of glittery-goodness… I’m a fan!!! I tried the Revlon Sparkling a while back and I needed three thick coats of it to reach the glitter equivalent of one coat of this Essie. *digression over*
Now I strongly encourage you, with a mild push even, to check out what Carmela thought of this shade
