I had a dream and “Seduction” fixed it!

Gosh we are mid-way through the week already!

This is a manicure I dug out from the ‘vault’… but kind of like the “top of the vault” for it is only a few weeks old ;)

I was curious to see how an image off of BM-315 would look like stamped and I came up with this ‘vision’.  Well, I will be the first to admit that sometimes the visions in my head are much prettier than the versions on my nail.  I wanted to create a quick gradient/color shifting manicure with this stamp… I started out with one coat of China Glaze Electric Beat.  I then dabbed on (with a sponge) BarryM Rasberry and sponged using China Glaze Sci-Fi and BM-315.  As an afterthought I added on Finger Paints Motley.  This was my result:

I was kind of ‘mueh’ about the manicure at this point.  I was also flustered that my sponging was rushed and therefore not gradient/smooth enough; this look just seemed to lack ‘flow’.

Before I gave up hope completely I thought, I like the flakies, but the base is too sheer… EUREKA!

I dove into the Helmer for Cult Nails Seduction. *phew*

(can you see the difference between this photo and the one above it? ;) )

I painted Seduction right over the stamp down the center of my nail and to either side of the ‘sponged’ BarryM.

What can I say, Seduction saved the day ;)

I could spend my day staring at the color shifting flakies in this bottle… yup, allow yourself to take a flakie-gazing moment ;) It’s alright… I won’t judge ;)

How often do you incorporate flakies into your manicure?

I have a few of them in my collection but keep forgetting about them, though they add so much character to a manicure.

Do you have a favorite flakie polish?

THANK YOU FOR READING!

      Hi ~Cute-icle Chronicles ,
      Thank you! :D

  • Eve

I loved the end-result and the depth it has. If were to go out for coffee together you would have me staring at your nails and examining every single twinkle of light and I wouldn’t be able to figure out, how you did it. And that’s what makes this mani very special. It has a lot of layers to it which makes it look a bit mysterious and very interesting :)
yes, I know, I just love your layered manis … I’m nowhere near as good as you, but I’m already taking pictures of my nails, maybe for a future blog project. We will see :)

      Hi Eve,
LOL! Your comment truly touched me and was so personable and sweet. Wouldn’t it be great if the world was just a little bit smaller/more accessible. We could meet people face to face and stare at their nails ;)
These layers did end up working well together and the overall effect (especially with the flakies) was quite mesmerizing. Thank you SO much.

Blogging is a real treat! I do it to unwind a little (but it does take some time – taking photos, editing, writing posts, networking etc). I truly enjoy meeting people who have a similar passion/interest and that is what fuels me to keep blogging ;) I hope you give it a whirl. Actually, Instagram is a great way to show some of your nailart/manicures also ;) If you have an account I’d love to connect with you there also (I’m @martawarmuz) ;)

      • Eve

thank you for your sweet reply! Unfortunately I don’t have instagram, my phone is from the bronze age :) But as soon as I have an istagram account I’ll connect with you :)

  • Anya_WackyLaki

I’ll admit to staring at flakies now an then… I really like your manicure and the gradient under the stamping :)

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      Hi Anya_WackyLaki,
lol, glad I’m not the only one. I actually love the way you use your flakies (they always add the perfect level of dimension). :D

  • coraline humbert

    woow you’re a mermaid :p !

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

Hi coraline humbert, :D lol, thank you… at least my nails are. This stamp looks very different on the plate than it did on my nails (if my nails were wider, the sides of the image are more spaced out and more condensed in the center of this pattern)… didn’t transfer quite like that onto the nail :D

Ooh I love this! Seduction really was the perfect touch. I love seeing a manicure go from “pretty” to “spectacular” with one small addition. Funny thing I always leave your posts “unread” in bloglovin’ until I can get the time to actually sit and read them instead of just browsing the photos.. your posts never dissappoint :) I love reading what you have to say and you always have a small story to accompany each manicure… it’s what sets you apart from other bloggers. Just thought I’d say so.

    • Erica McCabe

I do the same thing Kelsie! :D

      • http://kelsiesnailfiles.blogspot.com/ Kelsie Rogers

yay I’m not the only one stalking Marta’s blog posts! :P

      • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

        Hi Erica McCabe,
Wow, again I am absolutely humbled by your kind words. It is sooo rewarding and touching that people take time out of their OWN BUSY days to spend a moment with me. Truly, thank you for that

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      Hi Kelsie Rogers,
now I have a confession. Your comment totally made my day. So much so that I forwarded it to my husband just to share with someone. That is sooo very sweet of you to say. As a fellow blogger you have witnessed first hand how much time, effort and ‘self’ that goes into each post, and a positive response like yours truly makes me beam with appreciation :D thank you!
*sheesh… it has been a few days already and I’m still beaming*

I like how the dusty (and beautiful) Electric Beat looks with all the sponging, flakies and stamping. I think its cool looking, I like the last picture the best, it has more…. something I’m not sure what lol. You can see the flakies better with seduction. Oh and I rarely use flakes in a mani, which is a shame bc I LOVE flakies.

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      Hi Karen Lenz,
Flakies are a hidden gem in my stash too. I love them, but keep forgetting about them. They do add that extra dimension ;) Thank you

  • Erica McCabe

This is great Marta! I really love the look of this even without the flakie over top. I have tried the “fishnet” stamp and can’t seem to get it right/straight on my nail, so I always admire everyone who does :D I also love the colour you stamped with! All the colours play so nicely together on the nail :D

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      Hi Erica McCabe,
Stamping these images is NOT easy. The do look best if they are alligned properly. I try two things (and if I may share the two tips).
      1. When picking up the polish off of the image plate I align my stamper so that it is perfectly in the center with the edge of the stamper at the bottom edge of the stamp (this helps guide during stamping).
      2. I keep my finger at eyelevel, and peek under the stamp before rolling it onto the nail. I try to allign base of the nail as well as the sides of the nails before I touch down with the stamper. Hope this helps…
Thank you for your sweet comments

What a gorgeous manicure Marta, I love how the flakes look under the stamping, very nice. My favorite flakie polish have to be Unicorn Puke ;)

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      Hi Carolina,
Ah yes, the gorgeous Unicorn Puke… this one is similar… just a tiny bit more purple in base ;)

      Thank you!

  • Gabby

This design is beautiful. I love seeing all of your designs and I check on your blog daily… :) I nominated you for a blogger award on my blog.

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      Hi Gabby,
(I almost missed replying to your comment in the lineup *blush*)
Thank you SO much for such sweet words. I really appreciate you taking time out of your day to spend on my blog. That means a lot.
I will go check out the award. MUCH THANKS

  • Samantha

im really lovin this.I have the cg an Seduction was my first Cult polish i got a couple months ago so i might have to do that combo.i missed out on the finger paints brand flakies so this is also my first flakie polish an now i know i need more!

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      Hi Samantha,
Oh you will love this shade… It will look great over purples, blues, etc. :D
I have a few of the Finger Paints flakies. Though I like the fact that they can be layered over ANY shade because of their clear base, the flakies are quite sparse in comparison to Seduction… Seduction is PACKED FULL of flakies! You’ll love it! ;)

  • http://profiles.google.com/slbeshara Shannon-Lee Beshara

so pretty! great job. I bought this polish because of one of your posts!

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      HI Shannon-Lee Beshara,
Awh, thank you! I am happy to hear that you liked my previous post enough to make this purchase. This is a stunning shade. I hope you like it just as much as I do ;)

      Thank you!

  • http://www.lovevarnish.com/ Deborah

I can see the difference and it really pulls the look together!

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      Hi Deborah,
Thank you! :D You are so good at layering. You comment means a lot to me because of that

      • http://www.lovevarnish.com/ Deborah

        Aww <3.

  • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

    hi NotUrMommasnails,
    Thank you for your comment.
I am sorry to say that I do NOT have NfuOh 51. I did look up swatches and they do look similar. Two things I can mention:
    1. Cult Nails Seduction is a pure purple-jelly formula with TONS of color shifting flakies. Honestly, one coat has soo much flakie goodness (and the base pulls only purple with shifting flakies).
    2. Seduction is a LIMITED EDITION polish. Once the inventory sells out, it will not be replenished… I would hate for you to regret it when it is too late ;)
I have other brands of flakies… but Cult Nails surely packs a TON into one bottle. Hope this is helpful (a little)

  • http://twitter.com/NusaPavlic Nuša

Wow it was pretty before, but that bit of Seduction really made this mani outstanding. Hats down to Cult Nails ;) You’ve totally inspired me to pull out a few flakies on my own. Now that I think about it, I don’t think I’ve ever introduced flakies on my blog before (except for your GP). That needs fixing ASAP!!

  • http://twitter.com/Lendoxia Lendoxia

This looks very cool seduction definitely completed the look perfectly

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      Hi Lendoxia,
Thank you… I am glad you agree… the purple toned jelly base definitely helped out ;)

  • http://polishedindulgence.blogspot.com Carmela

I’m sad to report that I haven’t even used Seduction yet. I love the look you ended up with, though! It inspires me to reach for Seduction for my next mani. I find that I usually go on a flakie kick then move on to plain cremes for a bit to change things up some. I do have to agree that flakies always add that little something to brighten up any mani! :D
