German Paisley Print ;)

Author: marta  //  Category: BundleMonster, OPI, Soulstice Spa

Helly Lovely Ladies,

Yesterday I showed you my six picks from the OPI Germany Fall/Winter 2012 collection.  Today, and over the course of the next few days, I will be showing you each color individually with some nailart/accessories etc ;)   We’ve had such gloomy weather lately, and these fall shades are just what my nails are asking for ;)

Today I would like to shine the spotlight on OPI Don’t Talk Bach to Me.

OPI uses this phrase to describes this shade: “There’s nothing mellow about this sassy lime-yellow!”

To me, this shade is definitely a fashion forward office-appropriate pistachio-icecream shade ;)   I was really surprised at how soft an muted this yellowed-green shade is, all the while providing a pop of color.  It definitely is a unique one in my stash.

My instinct was to pair Don’t Talk Bach to Me with tarnished golds, earth tones and browns… so why fight my instinct ;)

For this manicure I applied two coats of Don’t Talk Bach To Me and used the saran-wrap method to dab on Soulstice Spa Venice.

I stamped the paisley pattern using Sally Hansen CoCo A-Go-Go and Bundle Monster plate BM-315.

This is a shade I will definitely be coming back to this Fall/Winter.  Oh… and did I mention it has this soft/subtle shimmer? Bonus!! ;)

Here is two coats of Don’t Talk Bach to Me:

Are you loving this fashion-forward shade as much as I am?

What colors would you pair it with?

THANK YOU FOR READING!

I have to say, this is a really unique shade. ♥ It suits you perfectly, love the stamping you did, really complimented the colour.

      Hi Lynette,
Thank you :D I was surprised by how much I loved this shade on… it was not what I expected and I was pleasantly surprised.
Glad you like the final look :D

  • Anya_WackyLaki

Marta, this is so lovely! Beautiful with the paisley print. I had the curious urge to pair it with brown as well, but in a slightly different way :)

      Hi Anya_WackyLaki,
Great minds think alike! :D I am so behind on posts… I am overdue on visiting your blog! ;)

  • Michelle Hamill

Wow, I’ve seen this colour swatched elsewhere and wasn’t in love with the colour, but you make it look STUNNING. May have to have a little trip to pick this one up: the colour is unique, and I love that it has a semi sheer look to it.

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      Hi Michelle Hamill,
Honestly, thank you SO much! I am glad that this post has made you reconsider this shade. It is a very unique shad, and you will be surprised at how fun but ‘neutral’ this one is

  • coraline humbert

i didn’t love this shade at first, but with this design it’s sooo pretty! really love it!<3

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      Hi Coraline Humbert,
Awh, thank you. I am glad I could show it to you in a different light. This polish applies a little bit more pastel in person than the bottle shows. It is an absolutely lovely delicate shade

  • carolingq

I love all the pictures and how you showed this shade, the stamping is perfect and the color looks so good on you.

      Hi carolingq:
Thank you! Your kind support really does mean a lot to me!

  • Karen Lenz

I really love this! the saran wrapping takes this look to another level. Great stamping too, this is a look I can see myself copy-catting.

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      Hi Karen,
I’m so glad you like this…. and now wrapping up food is always connected with the following thought “later, when the kids go to bed, if I ball up this saran wrap I could combine the following colors to create….” lol

  • http://twitter.com/PolishMePlease Nicole

Yes I am loving it as much as you are for sure!!! I love it with the gold on top- that looks subtle and awesome! I have GOT to get this polish!!

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      Hi Nicole,
I hope you do get this shade… I ‘peruse’ around the nail polish world a little… and this is definitely a unique one ;) Glad you like this color combo

  • Fingers

That’s one of my fave stamp designs in the new BM set! I bought 4 from this collection and I don’t even like OPI!

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      Hi Fingers,
Oh how I’ve missed your comments (and how badly behind I am on my favourite blogs too)… I love this stamp too from this set. I like OPI because the brushes are wide and perfect for my wide nailbeds :D

  • Nailderella

that’s really pretty!! the colors and pattern look great together!!

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      Hi Nailderella,
Thank you :D I’m glad you liked this one

  • MaraPolishland

I love your design! I was surprised to see this color when you posted it yesterday, because I thought it was more green/mustard/ugly lol if that makes any sense!
I haven’t bought any from this collection yes, but my picks are Don’t pretzel my buttons (no surprises there haha), Ocktoberfest and germanicure!

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      Hi MaraPolishland,
I also thought it would be more along the lines of CG Trendsetter… but it is definitely a lighter/neutral/pastel pistachio shade that I am sure YOU would love also (we share some nail polish preferences ;) so… ) lol
Those seem like my picks too ;)

  • Pink Pamalamma

While this just is not my kind of color, I do love paisley print and I totally adore your zipper bracelet!

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      Hi Pink Pamalamma,
Thank you for your sweet and honest comment. Yes, we all how shades we gravitate towards… this one is quite rare/unique in my stash.
The bracelet was a gift from Coloresdecarol.com (Carolina) :D

That’s exactly what I thought about – PISTACHIO ICE CREAM! This one is definitely a collector’s piece and I doubt there’s a dupe on the market! I sure love it, altho’ I am having doubts about how it’d look on my skin tone. But I’d be willing to give it a go! Your stamp fits perfectly! I don’t know why, but I’d probably pair it with forest green, but that’s just me being silly. :D

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

      Hi Nusa,
      (I’m so behind on comments :( )
Yaaay! I love the icecream, and I am glad that you too were drawn to this image/comparison to describe this polish. I have yet to be able to compare it to anything but CG Trendsetter (which is much murkier, greener and deeper). It is surprisingling ‘neutral’ looking on the nail despire its unique color… I think you would be pleasantly surprised… but even as an accent nail with shades like Berlin There done That or CG Below Deck OR a forest green as you suggest ;)

  • Lou is Perfectly Polished

I cannot tell you how much i love this paisley stamp. It was one of the first ones i used on my blog in July and although I am yet to revisit it after seeing this post i cannot wait. I love the effect you create with saran wrap – very clever :) xx

  • http://www.lovevarnish.com/ Deborah

That print is the reason I got the new BM set!

  • http://polishedindulgence.blogspot.com Carmela

I love what you did here! I’m generally not a fan of paisley but it looks fantastic with that gold texture and contrasting chartreuse base. I’m starting to think I need Don’t Talk Bach To Me too…
