A little while back I was able to show you the new Cult Nails Topcoat collection which is now officially called the Deceptive Collection and being Pre-Sold HERE.
I promised to do a follow up post on each of the shades, and layer it over other colors (not just black). I take great pride and joy in doing extended photo shoots for Cult Nails shades (one of my favourite brands of all time! EVER!)… this collection however is a little different. I thought I would focus on the Deceptive Collection up close… because these top-coats deserve the up-close-and-personal focus to really give you an idea of their ‘magic’.
Let us start with the WINNNER (IMO) from this collection; I would totally buy this entire collection (at the sale price of $40.00 for all five shades) JUST to guarantee that Charlatan comes home with me
:
Charlatan:

Cult Nails Charlatan is made up of chunky shimmer bits. This shimmer is magical! It is MULTICHROMATIC and flashes pink, purple, blue all at once!

… honestly, all three of these shades will be visible on the surface of your nail all at the same time!

This shade is sooo intense when layered over black.
With your help and suggestions I have come up with five shades to layer this polish over… just to give you an idea of how Charlatan ‘socializes’ with others

L-R: Cult Nails Evil Queen, Cult Nails Awakening, Catrice Sir, Yes Sir!, China Glaze Electric Beat and OPI Do You Lilac It.
Here they are with ONE coat of Charlatan:

I really was quite impressed that the base color wasn’t changed all that much by Charlatan … Therefore, the layering options are LIMITLESS!
Did you know?
A charlatan (also called swindler) is a person practicing quackery or some similar confidence trick in order to obtain money, fame or other advantages via some form of pretense or deception. “The charlatan is usually a salesperson. He does not try to create a personal relationship with his marks, or set up an elaborate hoax using role playing. Rather, the person called a charlatan is being accused of resorting to quackery, pseudoscience, or some knowingly employed bogus means of impressing people in order to swindle his victims by selling them worthless nostrums and similar goods or services that will not deliver on the promises made for them. The word calls forth the image of an old-time medicine show operator, who has long since left town by the time the people who bought his “snake oil” or similarly named tonic realize that it does not perform as advertised” (source: WIKIPEDIA)

Well, let me tell you… while looking at this polish I will just about do/agree to anything. This Charlatan is magical and charming and its persuasive color-shifting powers have me SOLD
