More Happy Hands

Hello Lovely Ladies,

If you had a chance to read Wednesday’s post, you would have seen my swatches of Happy Hands Art is Hard (a Harlow & Co exclusive).

Well, when Katie sent me a lovely nail-mail package she included two more Happy Hands shades, and I would like to share those with you today! πŸ˜€

First up is Motherboy:

The Happy Hands description reads: “There’s nothing like a mother & son wearing matching outfits, and now they can match their nail polish too!”

This is a mix of pastel metallic glitters in green, aqua, baby blue, pink, and lavender in both small and medium hexagonal bits.Β  Because the glitter is sooo very fine it comes out a little clumpy out of the bottle, but the glitter spreads itself out very smoothly once on the nail.

I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS POLISH!Β  It is pastel, and soft, and almost matte looking.Β  It is a glitter like no other IMO!!!Β  AND the fact that I am a proud mommy of a two year old little boy makes this even more special to me πŸ˜‰Β  I am taken back to the warm and tender moments of the ‘baby phase’ and all of those candy-colored pastel baby clothes πŸ˜€

The above swatches are ONE coat of Motherboy over two coats of OPI Steady as she Rose:

And just for fun, I added a few BM-02 stamps with OPI From A to Z-Urich (then a matte top coat πŸ˜‰ ):

This glitter polish is soft and trendy! A perfect start for anyone wishing to add a little “oomph” to their manicure without too vibrant a glitter.

This bottle of Happy Hands can be purchased on the Harlow&Co website HERE.

The second Happy Hands shade is Flowers on the Highway:

Happy Hands describes Flowers on the HighwayΒ as “an eclectic mix of wildflower-inspired hexes including pinks, white, lavender, green, yellow and small black (reminiscent of the centers of “brown” eyed Susans, as Kristi’s mother calls them.) A perfect summery glitter topcoat!”

This is ONE coat over one coat of China Glaze Below Deck:

While I frantically looked for something to pose with πŸ˜‰ …

… I mattified the polish:…

… and still couldn’t help but reminisce about the gorgeous meadows back home in Poland: with the poppies and delicate flowers in full bloom.Β  I LOVE it when a shade takes me on a mini vacation and brings back fond memories:

The metallic matte soft pastel glitter of Motherboy makes it super unique in my books, and Flowers on the Highway brings back fond memories of my childhood in Poland.Β  I am so happy to have been given the opportunity to try some Happy Hands shades.Β  I will also add that I LOVE the earthy-feel of the newer labels πŸ˜‰

Which of these two shades features is more ‘your cup of tea’?

Can you think of any other layering combos for these?

I think “Motherboy” is a reference to the show Arrested Development…

    • Jackie J

It is an Arrested Development reference. Happy Hands has a whole collection “I’ve Made a Huge Mistake” inspired by some of the funniest moments of the show. If you are a fan you definitely should check them out πŸ˜‰

    • It sure is an Arrested Development reference… I should have known that… but I didn’t do my research AND I don’t follow the show… but that is an added incentive πŸ˜‰

  • gorgeous polishes!

    • I’m glad I got a chance to try this lovely /fun indie brand πŸ˜€

I love both polishes, and cannot wait to see the meadows in full bloom again πŸ™‚

    • Agreed… the winter hasn’t even started and I long for the warm sun and flowers in bloom

  • Natalie B

This is so pretty! I get why the hands are happy πŸ™‚ Love the first polish and your owly mug! πŸ˜€

    • LOL, YUP hands were definitely happy πŸ˜‰
      Thank you!

  • I love how you mixed the first one with the lolypop stamp. So cute

    • Thank you! There is something ‘sweet’ about that glitter πŸ˜‰

  • coraline humbert

that’s really a sweet post πŸ™‚ I’m sooooo in love with glitters right now so everything is perfect here ! and loooooooooooooooooove your mug <3 Too much love in this comment lol !

    • πŸ˜‰ Thank you!
I’ve shown the mug a few times on Instagram… but thought that it needed a blog-post feature also… the glitter is lovely but multicoloured- so I had a hard time picking a jewelry piece that complimented it all that well πŸ˜‰ (at close up range)

  • Icequeen81

like it on you is so soft

    • Thank you πŸ˜‰

  • ugh Motherboy is amazing! And it’s an unreal reference to Arrested Development. I think I need it for the name alone. LOL

    • Jackie J

You should see the other polishes Happy Hands released in her “I’ve Made a Huge Mistake” collection. All inspired by the show & hilariously referenced.

    • LOL… I don’t watch that show- now I feel like I MUST πŸ™‚

  • Jamie Willett

Two gorgeous polishes! It really is amazing how Flowers on the Highway captured the essence of wildflowers.

    • You worded that so well…. I almost smelled the bottle to inhale the meadows πŸ˜‰ yes, the essence is definitely captured

  • Jackie J

Love the way these glitters look on you Marta! I have been eying some Happy Hands polishes for some weeks now & so happy my favorite blogger has the chance to review some! Quick Question: I know you mentioned the glitter is a little clumpy and I have heard the polishes are on the thicker side. Did you find this to be a nuisance or is it manageable? Will you find yourself revisiting these glitters? I love the Arrested Development polishes I just don’t want to be too disappointed. Thanks darling!

    • Awh, thank you!
The glitters in Motherboy are very very thin (almost like flakies) so as you apply the first stroke the pile up a little but they are VERY easy to spread out. I don’t have all too many indie glitters but I prefer if the glitter is more packed rather than lose because packed= better coverage with one coat. Actually ,now that I think about it, there is LOTS of glitter in the Happy Hands BUT the clear base is less goopy than Lush Lackers for example that has a really thick clear base.

I would not say that either of these were tricky to apply- honestly.

I will be revisiting Motherboy FOR SURE! LOVE IT!
      (hope this helps)

  • oh my i love the lolly pop stamp! and you just know how to match the nail color! i miss u so much! i wish you have GFC thing πŸ™

    • Thank you! I can be found on Instagram (@martawarmuz) and on Twitter and through bloglovin’… I don’t have GFC anymore because I run my blog through WordPress

  • Anya_WackyLaki

I really like both of these and the colors you paired them with is just great! For a moment I thought they were already suspended in that base color rather than layered! Lovely πŸ™‚

    • Awh thank you!

I’m glad you like the pairing… and I think that is part of the fun in a clear base glitter polish- each layering yields a different overall effect πŸ˜€ Very versatile that way

  • Oooooh REALLYYYYYY !!? I am SOOOOOO in LOVE with glitter ! And believe me… Those ones are in the most beautiful !! πŸ˜€ Motherboy is just so lovely with its pastel colors ! We don’t see it often ! And the association with this pastel pink is so nice ! πŸ˜‰

  • Natalie Postma

Love the mug! Where is it from?

  • Blogging world is just FULL of all sorts of indie polishes! Needless to say they are all beautiful and special, just like these two. Really need to get my hands on a polish like this – filled with chunky rainbow glitters! πŸ˜€
