Hello Lovely Ladies,

A while back I had shown you my mustache water decal manicure.  Since then I felt the urge to try some freehand mustache nails, and what better time to do it than MOVEMBER.

So here is my official ChitChat Nails ‘stash:

“During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of mustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world. With their Mo’s, these men raise vital awareness and funds for men’s health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.” (source).  

My husband Peter supports this cause and has his mustache filling in quite nicely (if I may say so myself ), but I was really motivated by an email I got from Melissa from Missy’s Manis, and I knew that I had to post a mustache manicure at least once this month.  I encourage you to read Melissa’s personal story HERE!

I am horrible at freehand… totally horrible, but I am comforted by two things:

1. mustaches are all different and ‘odd’ so my not-so-even ‘stashes are simply a reflection of that

2. I hope that, in this case, my good intentions and spirit will shine brighter than my skill level

I applied three coats of Cult Nails Disciplined and used a dotting tool to draw on the mustache using Wet n’ Wild Black Creme.  I then added two black gemstones to the accent nail.

There are a number of ways that, as a woman, you can get involved in this cause and you can find more information through Mo Sistas.  Peter is also raising money and you can check out his Mo Space HERE   Every little bit donated helps to find a cure for prostate and testicular cancer.

While I do not have any relatives (thankfully) who have been affected by this disease, I am fortunate to be surrounded by many healthy men (my father, my my brother, my brother-in-laws, and my grandfather, uncles and cousins back in Poland) who I hope will never have to deal with this disease.  Whenever I look at Peter’s mustache (and I’m not huge on facial hair), I count my blessings that he is healthy and hope that when my son gets older there will be a cure, and prostate cancer will no longer be a looming threat.
