Nail Art Gluttony

Author: marta  //  Category: Cult Nails, Essie, Konad, OPI

Hello Lovely Ladies,

Today’s manicure is not so much a fail, as a multi-layered manicure that I had such high hopes for but it just didn’t quite live up to my original vision… so I kept adding to it and adding to it, resulting in what I call my “Nail Art Gluttony” manicure:

* * *

Please read on for all the manicure details AND to find out the winner of the Jobi Nail Art Giveaway :D

To create this glutenous look I started with two coats of OPI Skull and Glossbones.  Using the saran-wrap technique I dabbed on Essie Mojito Madness and Cult Nails Evil Queen and Nail Inc Baker Street and Essie Stroke of Brilliance.  If you’re counting bottles of polish, we are at five already and the manicure was still lacking the real stroke of brilliance that I was hoping for…

… hoping that a stamp would rescue it all, I used Konad plate m85 with Mash Black.

I wasn’t feeling this look… (it came of shortly after I photographed this manicure).

AND now, I would like to announce the winner of the Jobi Nail Art Giveaway, chosen by random draw:

CONGRATULATIONS KAYLA!

Kayla has already been notified and has claimed her prize.

Thank you to everyone who entered this mini blitz-giveaway (I have replied to all of the questions you had for me. I had a blast doing it, thank you for the wide range of questions :D ).

* * * *

What do YOU think of this glutenous look?

Did all the colors and techniques spoil it all?

THANK YOU FOR READING!

*Joby Nail Art decals can be purchased HERE and many of them are on sale! The ones I used in THIS post are $2.99!) *

    These aren’t total fails. Maybe something other than black for the stamp? How many times have I done this myself, each step thinking “this will fix it” only to end up wearing it long enough for the pics then left with cotton balls full of disappointment (and sometimes disgust :)

      “cottons balls full of disappointment” sums it all up PERFECTLY.
      You are very articulate and I love the way you phrased your comment. Thank you :D

    I think we’re been all there. But isn’t it that the idea itself was just a different one? I truly love all those strong colors and your artistic mani very inspiring, I would wear it for a gallery opening with a plain black dress ;-)

      I’m glad that this feeling I tried to express is understood and shared by many :D (I find comfort in that).
      It does have an artsy/graffiti kind of feel to it right? Ohhh a gallery opening; I’ve never been to one but always dream of going (honestly); it just seems so sophisticated and intellectual

    Actaully I quite like this design a lot . Really pretty. If it was winter here and not summer, I would have paired them up with a neautral jacket and be very happy rocking them ♥

      OOOOH… see, now that you give me an outfit idea I wish I had held on to it longer (at least for a day) :D

    I like it, I think the stamp didn’t spoil it but add to it. Sorry that it come out as you had planned.

      Thank you :D I don’t mind sharing manicures that didn’t turn out just-quite right because it shows the successes and slight disappointments that are common in my manicure-life :D lol

    I think it works b/c there is such a stark contrast of the stamping against the background. I actually did a pastel watercolor manicure this summer with some geometric stamping in white that had a similar feel to this mani. I really like yours with the brighter background though.

      While I personally wasn’t a huge fan of this design of mine, I do admit that it did have an artsy feel to it :D
