Shimmer Polish

Hello Lovely Ladies,

A few weeks back I was contacted by Cindy from Shimmer Polish.Β  She sells her glitter lacquers on Etsy, and offered to send a few shades for me to review.Β  Each time I am offered an opportunity to review products I am overwhelmed with two feelings: excitement (that someone would trust/turn to me to do a review) and nervousness (that I do the product justice with a cohesive manicure and color-accurate photos).

Well, let me tell you, this Shimmer Polish review was a pure pleasure!

* CAUTION: photo heavy blog post ahead πŸ˜‰ *

Shimmer Polish Eva is described as a: Burgundy Red with a hint of Silver Sparkly Polish!

This polish is full of fine micro glitter that sparkles and glistens in a burgundy red jelly-base.

(one coat of Eva over one coat of China Glaze City Sirens)

I wore this shade this Christmas and I loved it!Β  You will want to put a layer of topcoat over this one, not only to smooth out the surface of the nail from the micro glitter, but also to bring the sparkle of the glitter to life.Β  This is an amazing alternative to the traditional red-nail.

I added some KKCenterHk gold heart water decals πŸ˜‰

(a sheet of these decals retails for $3.80, and can be purchased HERE)

(Double Heart Water Decals Nail Art Metallic Gold-SYT095Β [NNAIL-WDSYT095]Β  )

Shimmer Polish Jasmine is described as: an aquamarine, light blue and green Glitter Polish!
This shade sure glistens and contains some gold and bronze glitter bits to make this shade rich in color… oh, did I mention there is holographic glitter in this one also?

(one coat of Jasmine over Wet n’ Wild I Need a Refresh-Mint)

I am a sucker for glittery accent nails so I applied a second coat of Jamine to two of my nails and stamped the others with Bundle Monster BM-322 and Essie Good As Gold to create this look:

Shimmer Polish Nichole is described as: Red, Silver and Blue Melange Glitter Polish! A Patriotic Shimmer!

While I will admit that this did say red, white and blue to me πŸ˜‰ I looove silver glitters with colorful glitters mixed in, and the added holographic bits have me enchanted!Β  Overall, this shade quickly made it to my favorites list.

(one coat of Nichole layered over China Glaze Pelican Grey)

I tend to always pair my red shades with gold (it is an inner urge I keep succumbing to).Β  With Nichole, I was given the excuse to pair red with silver πŸ˜‰ (a terrain thus far unexplored by me) πŸ˜‰

The accent nail is one coat of Cult Nails Evil Queen with silver and blue BornPrettyStore glitter.

You can find these Shimmer Polish shades on ETSY.

The 0.5 Fl. oz bottles retail for $12.00.Β  I love the fun and innovative combinations of glitter and I found these indie shades VERY easy to apply- the glitter was so smooth and the base wasn’t thick and clumpy- which made for very easy painting and FAST drying πŸ˜‰

They truly are pretty, and I have found that the shades have a lot more character than the etsy store write up lets on ;)I
was also surprised at the flawless application. I have a few indie
shades that are a bit tricky/thick to apply- but these were a real
      pleasure to work with.
I would say that Nichole was my favourite of the bunch… a silver shade with some colorful elements… patriotic without being overly ‘in your face’ about it… if that makes sense πŸ˜‰

All three of them are beautiful. I have seen a fair share of Shimmer polishes lately and loved the uniqueness of them though have Not bought any of them (yet). I loved the aqua colored best πŸ™‚

Thank you! The red is a deep berry toned polish with just the right amount of glitter/interest- without being too juvenile πŸ˜‰
And who can say no to a good “houndstooth” pattern πŸ˜‰

Would these be your first Shimmer shades as well?
I have one thing to say about them- they really were easy to apply and the glitter was very nicely suspended in the formula- quite impressive actually
