My Dandy Weekend Manicure

Author: marta  //  Category: Dandy Nails, Essie, Nailz Craze, OPI

Hello Lovely Ladies,

Yesterday I showed you two pretty Dandy Nails shades and I promised to show you Chilled Down in a stamped manicure; as we say to our kids, “A promise, is a promise” ;)

For those of you who follow me on Instagram (@martawarmuz) you will have seen this manicure already- in fact, I am still wearing it today- that is how much I like it.

Let me start from the beginning then, if you don’t mind ;)

In December I pre-purchased the newest  Nailz Craze stamping plate: NC03.  When it arrived in the mail I was beyond excited to try it.  Natalie did a great job designing this plate, and I can full-heartedly vouch for both the quality and the originality of these images.  Here is what you can expect when you order this plate on Etsy:

1. The plate will be mailed out in a bubble-wrap padded envelope.  While it did take a few weeks to get here (having traveled accross the world- literally), it does require a signature at arrival – so it is less likely to be lost/miss-delivered.

2. The presentation is really cute and practical.  A colorful piece of tape (a sweet touch) keeps the second layer of bubble wrap securely in place around a cardboard piece that keeps the plate from bending/scratching in the mail.

3. The images are CRISP, super detailed and are furthermore protected by a blue plastic sheet that peels off with ease.

Can you blame me for wanting to try these images right away!?

Side Note: I recently had a comment request to show photos with my thumb included.  I will try my best- my thumb is stubby and awkward and it will take some time for me to ‘teach it’ to pose ;)

To create this look I painted my thumb and pointer finger with OPI You Don’t Know Jacques (which, started my love for dark taupes- in fact, I am on my second bottle of this polish!).  My pinky is Essie Where’s My Chauffeur? (one of my prizes from www.NailPolishCanada.com).

The two accent nails are two coats of Dandy Nails Chilled Down.  Despite the intricate NC03 stamping over the base color, the gold and blue Chilled Down glass flecks glistens and add such character to this look, and help add to the textured feeling of a cozy sweater ;)

I could rambling on about all the pretties in this look, as I am still wearing this manicure and admiring it today… but you be the judge, do YOU like it?

THANK YOU FOR READING!

Can’t wait to see what you’ll come up with. Those ladies on the plate (can’t come up with the correct name now ) looks really fun to use !

THANK YOU! When I come up with a look that I really like I feel the urge to share it on Instamatic (just to release the excitement)… but then I realize that my blogposts are a bit redundant… still working on a happy solution to all of that.
The nesting dolls/ babushka dolls are on my to-try list… :D We shall see how I fare :D

Love this colour combination, especially the idea for the pinky: no glitter, but bright colour :-) Cozy and wintery!

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

yes, I broke the glitter on the pinky rule ;) I do that sometimes when another polish has some ‘interest to it’. In this case Chilled Down had the glass flecks and I wanted those to be more prominent- didn’t want glitter competing (see… I think way too much).
      THANK YOU!

I actually have to give credit to Natalie for the way I placed this design. She used this in a white an blue combo on Instagram and I fell in love with it and monkey-see monkey-do … ;)

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

Thank you :D I did have to redo the stamps a few times to try to get them dead-center on the nail (it could still be better)… it was pretty tricky to find the center of my nail LOL

This look is really amazing. In these pictures you can really see the stuning complexity that is in chilled down. My that Essie shade still has me drooling!

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

You also saw this polish in person :D
Chilled Down is definitely my top fave Indie Shade- I adore it to bits

  • Christine Steiner

Hi Marta, you (again) picked a color combination I love – turqoise and taupe!!! And your creativity for skittlettes got me awed once more!!!! Too bad that I cannot get away with skittlettes at work – I still need practice and have so little opportunity – meanwhile I admire yours :-)

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

Yes, skittlettes are still ‘new’ to mainstream. I remember my dad giving me an odd look when I had a few different shades on at once. He asked “did you run out of that color and have to use the others?” lol.
Thank you. There is no wrong way of doing skittlettes- just have fun with it ;)
