Time for a Nail Call

Hello Lovely Ladies,

Today’s manicure is a copy-cat look from a recent post by Karen from Nail Call.

Karen is a great friend of mine, and fellow blogerette.  We used to meet up to have playdates with our children in tow, but recently we went on a mini mommy-shopping-spree getaway for the evening.  She sported THIS look and I fell in love with it- there was no question in my mind that I would be duplicating it 😉

I adore this mixture of retro colors, and admire Karen for having put these together- I don’t know whether I would have come up with this color combo myself – but I LOVE IT!

Though I came home with lootbags of costume jewelry from Forever 21 and Suzy Shier, all I could think about was Karen’s nails (not creepy at all right!?).  In fact, I went on a little shopping-desert (there is such a thing) and picked up this gorgeous, new-to-me, OPI San Tan-Tonio shade.

Pinky: two coats of Cult Nails Manipulative

Middle Finger: OPI MBSW with the Konad hounds-tooth pattern from plate m63

The rest of my nails were painted with two coats of the caramel toned OPI San Tan-Tonio.  The pointer finger and thumb are both stamped with a BornPrettyStore bow, plate m59

I strongly encourage you to check out Karen’s original post HERE and to give Nail Call a follow.  A sweet personality behind pretty blog posts is a lovely mixture 😉

Where do you get your manicure inspirations from?

What do you think of this look?

  • WOW ! Gorgeous !! And such a fun mani too copy too !! I did see the post on Nail Call a while back and thought it such a pretty mani. Hooray for the both of you on such gorgeous nails ♥

I love this retro look. The mix of pretty bows and strong houndstooth print work really well together :). Def one for my inspiration folder. Thanks Marta and Karen xx

  • Anne-Marie Rogers

Love it. I also love your photography when you shoot your nails

  • Thank you Marta! I am humbled that you wanted to do a copy cat mani of mine! Usually its the oposite! Yours is much better in execution than mine was!! Its so pretty 🙂 Thank you for the shout outs! (*and we’ll def have to go shoping again!*)

  • Jamie Willett

This is lovely! Great color combination!

  • Loving the Skittlette, they get better and better 😀 I am going to try the houndstooth too 😀

  • I am really in love with this skittlette ! 😀 I love the colors you used and the bow. 🙂

But there is a huge lack of glitter !! lol (you’ve shown so much glitter those last days that it is weird seing your nails without any ! :p)

  • I did want to come up with a better description or this, but all I can think is LOVELY. Not in a “errm, lovely shoes! (I hate them)” but in the bestest way there is. You chose two LOVELY shades and paired them with LOVELY designs. 😀 (the hounds-tooth and bow design are, along with a couple other images, actually what I seek in stamping plates the most).

Anyhoo, I’m just letting you know that I’m still a frequent reader! 🙂 AND I am currently wearing the mani for our twin post 😉

Marta, you are a dream come true for me; finding your blog and seeing all your wonderful and creative designs just makes me so happy, I always look so forward to each new post so that I can attempt a similar design myself ( never as good as yours, but I do try)
    Happy day!

    • Hello lotte noles,
Your comment means a LOT to me. I am so happy that you tune in to my blog- I really appreciate that.
We are all talented in our own way and I am sure your manicures are just as lovely! The important thing is to have fun with it because that is what nailart is all about.
