Hello Lovely Ladies,
Nothing gets me as excited, when it comes to nailart, as a great stamping plate set 😉
Because my freehand is not all that good, I rely very heavily on stamping to spruce up my manicures. When I spotted the 2013 PUEEN Nail Art Stamping Set on AMAZON, I knew I had to add it to my collection!
My stamping-plate binders are bursting at the seams from the plates I have collected to date (Konad, Bundle Monster, Mash, Shany, Red Angel, Gals, Nailz Craze and random plates here and there), and yet PUEEN might just be the set to rival them all! Don’t get me wrong, each stamping set has its pros, and each plate and design has fun possibilities, but I cannot remember when a whole set of 25 plates had such a cohesive and “mature”/day-to-day suitable collection of designs.
Today, I would like to review the PUEEN stamping set for you, AND as an added bonus, my friend Carolina from Colores de Carol is ALSO reviewing these plates, so I invite you to go to her blog to check out her opinion on these and her first PUEEN manicure as well 😉

The PUEEN stamping set is a collection of 25 AMAZING plates!
Each plate is wrapped individually, so for those of you who don’t have plate storing binders/boxes, the plastic protective wrap could keep your plates safe & provide good storage for the time being:
Each plate comes with a protective blue seal (which must be removed in order to stamp the images). The blue seal comes off easily and does not leave any glue-y residue on the plate. Furthermore, each plate has a smooth backing making the edges of the metal plates less sharp.
Now I know you want to see the plates up close and personal right?!?!
Well, I won’t hold it off much longer, here are the PUEEN 2013 plates:
I really like the bottom-middle image: It will make for a lovely tone-on-tone look
The top and right images are right up my alley
I like the zigzag design on the left
You know I love the geometric designs on the right and bottom. I also really like the two small images on this one
The image on the right is the reason I really wanted this set!
But I love the top image as well! 😉
Love the dots and the design on the right. I also like the little floral bit on the bottom left
The full image on the left could be a cute alternative to the traditional “dot” look
All of the above large images are a WIN in my books
Yup, all WIN! For those of you who really like star designs (check out the image on the right!) 😀
I am really excited to try the “larger” cheetah print design at the bottom!
All of the larger images are sooo pretty!
Though of course I like the geo prints, the little bunny makes me happy too 😉
The bow and the bottom design interest me
Bottom and right will make for great skittlette stamps 😉
This whole plate is so pretty, especially the Damask-ish image on the left.
I’m very excited to use this rose stamp too!
What is there not to love about THIS plate? I really like all of the detail in the top image.
I am telling you, how GREAT are the geometric shapes!?!?
love love love!
Left and right look so sophisticated
That bottom image will look sooo cool in bold colours!
The image on the right is my second-favorite from this set!
*insert heart-shaped-eyes here*
And the lovely images continue!
Even the swirly image on the left could be really cool if double-stamped
The bottom image on this plate steals the show for me
I might as well repeat myself: I really like all of these! Check out the fine detail on the image on the left
Top and bottom are my favourite, though I can see the image on the left being a fan favourite also
I am excited to try the floral image on the right!

Here is my very first PUEEN manicure 😉
* * *
Pinky is piCture pOlish Honey Dew
Pointer and Thumb is Barielle One Shade of Gray
Accent Nails: two coats of OPI MBSW. I then used my fine nail-art brush to draw on triangles with acrylic paint (the triangles do NOT have to be perfect as you will be stamping over them). The lavender triangles were also outlined in silver. I then used PUEEN05 plate with black stamping polish.
* I had NO problems with transferring this images, and the fine details came out crisp
* I enjoy the number of full nail images and the mature/day-to-day appropriate designs on each plate
* I am happy that there are NO tip designs (I don’t find those practical to use). With no tip designs there are MORE full images
* If this is your first set of plates, there are animal print designs, bows, cherries, stars, stripes, small floral accents, dots etc. A little bit of everything to get your feet wet. A great starter set IMO.
* If this IS your first set, please note that it does NOT come with a scraper and stamper. That must be purchased separately.
* Though each full stamp has a half-moon base, the images are tall and wide enough to cover my nail with plenty of room to grow. Truly these definitely hit the mark size wise for me.
Please visit Carolina’s Blog for her opinion and to see what look(s) she has created.
YOU CAN BET YOUR BOTTOM DOLLAR THAT THE IMAGES FROM THIS PUEEN SET WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE AN APPEARANCE ON MY BLOG. 😀
