piCture pOlish – Jade

Author: marta  //  Category: piCture pOlish

Hello Lovely Ladies,

The past few days have been awesome, blogging wise!

On Monday I was part of a Cult Nails Google+ Hangout; Cult Nails showed their upcoming shades and ended it all off with a Rafflecopter giveaway, (still running- make sure you enter HERE).

On Wednesday, I did a “How to Skittlette” tutorial that I was personally so anxious about posting, but it has been so warmly received (thank YOU for that); if you missed it check it out HERE.

Personal life wise, I’m really feeling the pressure of school (midterms are fast approaching).  Blogging is an outlet for me, a hobby and a passion that I want to keep up, but… getting through the next two weeks of schoolwork is my priority.  I have SO many manicures and swatches to show you… just no time to pick and watermark the photos and to put together the posts *end of  little-moment-of-blogging-woes*

That all being said, I do not want to take away from today’s feature polish (which deserves its own swatch post):

piCture pOlish Jade:

Just as the name suggests, Jade is a gorgeous jade-green cream with a subtle pearly shimmer (I always hesitate saying “pearly” because I know that turns many people off… think of it more as a white-shimmer dusting that comes out in sunlight) ;)

(two coats)

The formula is of top-notch piCture pOlish quality (’nuff said).

This is definitely a GREEN polish… though it is a pale (cousin-to-mint)… it IS green ;)

But, oh but, that shimmer is sooo strikingly pretty (and camera shy).

sidenote: if you notice my pointer finger nail is a bit “thick”, lol… I recently ordered some Orly Nail Rescue from NailPolishCanada.com… a had a bad break on that fingernail and this product arrived just on time.  The product, let me tell you, works Ah-Ma-ZING!… it is the user that needs a little bit more practice “filing down”, lol.  Didn’t realize how ‘thick’ the fix was until the photos… if you noticed that, this is the long winded explanation… if you didn’t, well… *sigh*

Jade is one of those colours perfect for summer/spring.  Not quite a neon, but bright enough to make a statement.  It is an accessory in-and-of-itself.

Today I am showing you a plain swatch.  Next week, Jade will be helping me kick of Cirque week with a fun glitter Jade-ified sandwich.

Hi Marta, awwww Jade looks stunning on you – and you are right, it looks more dusted with white shimmer than pearly – I love it!! And I enjoyed your Skittlette Tutorial tremendously. One thing that I find so striking with your creations: they are neutral and as in clothing the accessoire makes the difference, sometimes it is no more than changing my pinkie that makes it work for a totally different look. Thank you for having taken the time to show us this tutorial and now it is time to PLAY!!!

      Awh, my pleasure.

I started doing the skittlette look because I didn’t have time to stamp all of my nail (lol). BUT, you are right, now there is the added bonus of changing one finger color around and you have a very different look. I’m so glad you found it helpful.
I do get a kick out of matching my clothes to my nails (I’m a little obsessive on that matter). lol

  • Morgane Rauscher-Borne

First: Good Luck on your mid-terms! Education is so important and we can wait on posts if it means you kill it in school! :)

I *LOVE* Orly Nail Rescue, it is pretty amazing stuff!!
Your swatch, as usual, is stunning and now I NEED this polish in my collection!

Thank you. I’m working my way through the midterms- two are semi prepared- one more to go.

Orly Nail Rescue is my saving grace and you DO need Jade ;)

  • Erin Ortiz

I’m pretty sure this is the best color ever :)

      LOL, love your enthusiasm

I love this color!! I think it is gorgeous! I do think of my nails as an accessory however most of the time my nails do not match my clothing. I really just put what makes me happy or keeps me distracted all day :) on my nails. I do sometimes make it a point to match my outfits but that is usually for a special event not just an everyday thing. I also need to know how you balance school, kids, hubby and home. I also work I am unsure if you do. I am always looking for a way to add extra hours to my day. Lol!

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

lol, wouldn’t it be nice if we could BUY hours in the day… I would invest in a few ;) I make sure my kids come first, but once they are in bed I rush through my hobbies and responsibilities ;) I paint my nails at night and put the posts together while the kids watch a 30 min TV show after lunch each day (lol). I study in the evening and clean the house as things are needed. *sigh* I will admit that I get a lot of support and help from Peter who is an active father… I do work, but only part time (3 times per week-ish). ;)

    Very pretty!
