Copying GlamDivaNails

Hello Lovely Ladies,

I’m slowly catching up on posting manicure that I enjoyed a few weeks back! ;)

Today I want to show you a manicure that was entirely inspired by Susan from GlamDivaNails.  I follow Susan on Instagram and when I saw THIS post, I knew I wanted to replicate it ;)  She truly is quite talented so I encourage you, if you have Instagram, to follow her  (@gamsusie).

I really enjoyed how soft this manicure was.  Pastel pink combined with black creates this lovely melody of girly and edgy IMO.

For the base I used Bettina Gladiola (sent to my be THE Bettina nail-fairy,Cristina from LTHP)

I did the polka dots freehand with a dotting tool.  The roses were done with a stamping plate GCOCL C02 (I am sorry, at this point I can’t remember where I got the plat from – symptom of old age?).  It is a single-rose-bud image that I stamped a few times onto the nail.

The thumb is the new textured NOPI Gumdrops Collection called A-Nise Treat.

With your advice (I posed the question on Instagram), I added a matte topcoat to this manicure:

I quite like this look mattified more.

Do YOU like this look mattified version better too?

When do YOU reach for your matte topcoat?

THANK YOU FOR READING!

Ha! As I was reading through your post I kept clicking back and forth from yours to GlamDivas, trying to decide if I preferred it matte or shiny. I decided I liked it better matte but that I wasn’t going to say anything to you because yours was still very lovely. So, there’s your answer! I also agree with Kellie below! :)

Awh, you’re so sweet! Yes the mattified version was my preferred one also. Thank you for your kind comment

I love the combination of pale pink and black, it’s hard and soft at the same time. So pretty!

Nice mani! I like matte top coat over glitter

    • http://www.chitchatnails.com/ Marta

I do too! It makes glitter more ‘mature’ doesn’t it?

I need to reach for my matte top coat more! I love the look of it matte. I really never know when something will look good matte. I did do a jelly sandwich and matte it. I thought it was beautiful! There is another one of Glam Diva Nails I would love for you to recreate and it is the one with the neon looking pink, dots and a bow. It also has black and white. I love it!! I think you would rock it! If you are taking requests please add mine to the list.

Awh, thank you. You’re very sweet

This is an epitome of Marta-esque style – I am floored. It holds all of what I admire with your talent: harmonized yet edgy, artful and creative!!! <3 I like both versions, I probably would have to go with one version per hand – LOL!!! And I mattify glitters – or flakies. When wearing creams I always go shiny – it covers my ridges a lot better!

Ooooh, the matte version is SUCH a stunner!
